For you
I have your smile
when I look in the mirror I see you
I have your laugh
So when I chuckle I hear you
I have your humour
when I’m sharing jokes I owe it to you
You taught me to be kind
You and I know it’s true
You cook the best rice and chicken on the planet!
You made me like broccoli normally I can’t stand it
Your voice is like the music of my favourite song
No one else sounds like you so loving and warm
When I was young, I was separated from you for very long
those were hard times for me but somehow I was strong
because of you I learnt to write letters and buy the right stamps
So I could send bright messages that glowed like lamps
We reconnected when I was fully grown
Deep inside I always knew I would come home
I love you mum we’ve both come a long way
I don’t have to wait to show you on Mother’s Day.
