Resources for National Writing Day 2022
Everyone has a unique voice, a story to tell, and a right to be heard. Now in its sixth year, National Writing Day is an annual day dedicated to celebrating and practising creative writing for pleasure and self-expression.
In 2022, National Writing Day takes place on 23rd June. Anyone can take part in National Writing Day— at home, at work, in schools, online, or just about anywhere really! With free resources available to help stimulate your creativity and inspire writing activities, it’s time to make your voice heard.
CLPE are proud to be a National Writing Day Partner. To support schools and teachers to engage in independent writing activities on National Writing Day, we've used what we know about the way children are inspired to write by quality children's literature to provide resources for each age phase based on 4 brilliant children's books which culminate in an opportunity for children to engage in independent writing.
The four texts are:
EYFS: Billy's Bucket by Kes Gray and Garry Parsons
Y1&2: Anna Hibiscus by Atinuke and Lauren Tobia
Y3&4: Werewolf Club Rules by Joseph Coelho
Y5&6: Running on Empty by S.E, Durrant
