CLPE Turns 50!
In 2022, the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE) is celebrating its 50th Birthday. CLPE is a charity that has been leading thinking and practice in the teaching of literacy in primary schools for 50 years.
Our charities passion is high quality literature and primary literacy and we embody this in everything we do. As a charity, every penny that is spent with us goes back into improving literacy learning and into research to support everyone’s knowledge about what makes the best provision and practice to ensure children learn all the literacy skills they need.
Our vision is to raise the literacy achievement of children by putting quality children’s literature at the heart of all learning. We do this by offering a wide variety of support to primary teachers, including:
- Free Teaching Resources
- Booklists and Book Recommendations
- Literacy Training both Online and Face-to-Face
- CLPE School membership – 5 star winner of the Teach Primary Awards 2021
- The Power of Reading Programme
- The Power of Pictures Programme
- Ground Breaking Research including Reflecting Realities
- CLiPPA: The CLPE Poetry Award and Free School Shadowing Scheme
