Cecilia Weiler
TRUSTEES

Cecilia Weiler

Cecilia worked as a corporate lawyer for over 20 years, first in Sweden and then 15 years in the UK, advising on legal issues, strategy and risk management and also providing training and also included helped smaller clients set up suitable business processes for those purposes. Speaking several languages she has worked with clients throughout Europe.

Cecilia wanted to become a trustee because she loves working with children and assisting their learning. As well as giving regular talks and World Book Day story-telling sessions in several primary schools, she organised and ran a local dyslexia support group for parents and set up children’s book recommendation lists for friends.  She sees working with CLPE as a fantastic way to get to combine this passion with her professional skills, and to support CLPE’s work to nourish children’s inspiration for and enthusiasm from reading and writing.

Always reading or writing stories from a young age, Cecilia read everything she found and still does! Her mother would come home from the library with two large bags – one for Cecilia and one for the rest of the family – and they both loved it.  She loves adventure books, historic novels, drama, books with feel-good themes and she now shares her enthusiasm for books with her own children.
