WEBINAR DETAILS

This CPD session is recorded to support a teacher to access it on demand for 30 days from the release date. It provides rich opportunity for practical engagement and reflection which will support implementation in the classroom.

Draw on the findings of CLPE's award winning Reflecting Realities research to support you to create an ethnically representative curriculum and book stock.

What you will learn:

  • the key features that constitute quality inclusive, ethically representative literature and a wealth of contemporary book recommendations to choose and use from Early Years to Year 6;
  • how to overcome challenges of erasure and problematic portrayals to ensure pupils are not marginalised within the literature and curriculum they experience;
  • the role that high-quality, inclusive literature plays in shaping positive reader and writer identity, a broader outlook and better understanding of the world;
  • key considerations when curating quality inclusive literature to create your English curriculum and in integrating this across your provision.

This is part of a series of three Transforming Literacy webinars: teachers and leaders might attend one or all three to support leadership and practice in key aspects of literacy provision.

What you will receive:

  • 30 day access to a recording of the online session;
  • a handout of the presentation slides.

Online CPD session price is per person.

Participants receive a notification email three days before the release date. The recording will be sent via email on the release date. If you need support, please email [email protected].
