EVENT DETAILS

Join us for a very special Literacy Library presents event with Children’s Laureate Cressida Cowell.

CLPE’s Charlotte Hacking will share CLPE’s research and learning from our school development programmes on the most effective ways to meaningfully engage children of all ages with books and reading.

Vicky Galt, Principal of Harrow Gate Primary Academy in Stockton-on-Tees, will talk about how she and her staff have developed a reading for pleasure culture, including the redevelopment of their school library and the impact this has made on the engagement of their children and the wider school community.

We’ll be joined by Children’s Laureate Cressida Cowell, who will share her experience in writing for and in engaging readers of all ages, as well as her Children's Laureate Charter which underpins everything good readers need to be successful. She will also talk about her latest campaign ‘Life-changing Libraries’ which calls on the government to provide core funding to ensure every primary school can have the books, expertise and space that they need for a school library.

Registration will be via Zoom. Please follow the instructions in your confirmation email and ensure that you register well in advance of the event start time.
