CLPE has made a substantial contribution to practice and theory in literacy teaching through its research and development projects over the last forty years. We welcome interest in our research and run regular conferences for teachers and head teachers on its outcomes.

In July 2018 we published Reflecting Realities, the first UK study looking at diversity in children’s books. Funded by the Arts Council, the aim is to quantify and evaluate the extent and quality of ethnic representation in children’s publishing in the UK.
