Articulating a Clear Vision for Reading - Event for Leaders

09/01/2020 - 10:00am to 12:00pm

Join CLPE’s expert teaching team for this special event designed for Head Teachers, Deputy Heads, Senior Leaders and Literacy Leaders.

This morning briefing will support leaders in considering how the curriculum and the practice and provision for reading that happens in their schools supports children to become fluent and independent readers, reading with a greater depth of comprehension.

We will explore how a high-quality reading programme based around quality texts and planned opportunities for the teaching of phonics and wider reading skills and strategies supports a school to be successfully prepared for the new Ofsted framework as well as in enabling progress and attainment in reading across the curriculum.

This event will look at how to ensure staff across your school understand the journey of progression in reading throughout the primary years, and are able to identify those children who need additional support to read fluently and independently. We will consider how to plan provision to ensure these children receive targeted support to develop their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm for reading.

Tickets for this special event are £50, which is redeemable against a booking made for Power of Reading training, Developing the Role of the English Subject Leader, Language and Grammar in a Rich Reading Curriculum or Raising Achivement in Writing courses. This event starts at 10:00am (coffee and registration from 9:30am). Booking is essential.
