The Hairyboos were hairy, the Smoothyboos smooth.

But they lived side by side and were never rude.

Bring on your shining armour, dude.
I'll be your damsel in distress with attitude.

There she was on the news,
Miss Goody Two Shoes
caught on CCTV.

Don't look so shocked.
Of course you know who – who else but Goldilocks!

they said.

So he did.

Toe the line

they said.

So he did.

Sign on

the dotted line

they said.

So he did.

Spices and gold once cast a spell
On bearded men in caravels.

New World New World cried history
Old World Old World sighed every tree.

Green misled me into the woods.

Blue tried to drown me in the sea.

 

White smothered me in balls of clouds.

Yellow caught me on a double yellow line.

It takes time

to sling a stone

to fling a spear

to wield a club

to blow a dart

to shoot an arrow

to pull a pistol

to fire a canon

Who’d want to steal dew?

Maybe not me, maybe not you?

Then again, if you’d discovered

that dewdrops were heaven’s pearls

 

(the precious spittle of the stars

A plant called love
A plant called hate

I grew them both 
in my garden.
The plant called love was hard work.

This morning I've got too much energy
much too much for geography

I'm in a high mood
so class don't think me crude
but you can stuff latitude and longitude
