Poem

Dog in the playground:
Oh, no he don’t.
He’ll come with me,
You see if he won’t.

Poem

Don't move the goalposts.
Leave them as they are.

Well, maybe this much wider.
Now you've gone too far.

In a bit more. Stop.
OK, that'll do.

Poem

I've just invented a flying machine;
It's silver and gold and three shades of green.

Jennifer Watson
Poem

When Harry went away
he stole a part of Mum.
No-one warned us.
No-one said.
We looked and looked for ages –

Poem

I like to stay up
and listen
when big people talking
jumbie stories

I does feel
so tingly and excited
inside me

But when my mother say
“Girl, time for bed”

Poem

Once everything was big
and you were small,
but year after year your shadow
crept up the wall
and you grew tall.

Poem

One moment they were there and we were having fun
Now they've disappeared, every single one.
I don't know where to go and I'm feeling rather scared

Let in the Stars
Poem

Now the day is over,
you're lying in your bed
and cares are spinning endlessly
around your weary head.
Remember that the moon you see
is also shining down on me.

Poem

My Gran was a Caribbean lady
As Caribbean as could be
She came across to visit us
In Shoreham by the sea.

Poem

Nobody knows what Jonjo knows. Nobody knows but he,
So Jonjo took me for a walk and showed his world to me.
