Poems

Poem

His name is called and there's a pause

just long enough to halt a war

tame timber wolves and trim their claws

hide diamonds in a secret drawer

Poem

He's the Keepy-Uppy Kid.

Poem

We're the Mafia cats
Bugsy, Franco and Toni
We're crazy for pizza
With hot pepperoni

Poem

My twin brother lives across the street,

once in a while, we meet to eat,

he listens to me, lets me talk,

doesn't complain and doesn't baulk,

Poem

Nobody knows what Jonjo knows. Nobody knows but he,
So Jonjo took me for a walk and showed his world to me.

Poem

Eyes as wide as continents brim wih the water between.

Seeks a different future. Looks back on what has been.

Poem

The light through the blind is a poem,

the way it illuminates air.

And the shadows that fall

on the floor and the wall

are signs that a poem is there.
