Julia Donaldson

Julia Donaldson MBE is a writer, playwright and performer and the 2011–2013 Children's Laureate. She is best known for her popular rhyming stories for children, especially those illustrated by Axel Scheffler, which include The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and Stick Man. Her book Poems to Perform was shortlisted for the 2014 CLPE Poetry Award. In 2018, she was awarded a CBE (Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire).
