Allan Ahlberg

A former teacher, postman, plumber's mate and gravedigger, Allan Ahlberg is in the super-league of children's writers and is the author of over 150 books. He famously collaborated with his late wife Janet on picturebooks with rhyming texts such as Peepo! and Each Peach Pear Plum and The Jolly Postman, the latter two winning the Kate Greenaway Medal.  He has created many more picture books with illustrators which include Fritz Wegner, Bruce Ingman and lately his daughter Jessica. Allan’s popular collections of poetry include Please Mrs Butler and Heard it in the Playground.
