Clerihews

TYPE

Poem

POETIC DEVICES

Rhyme

To vaguely amuse
And banish the blues
Writing clerihews
I would choose.

Mr Merryhew
Would ferry you
Across the Thames at Bray
On a tea tray.

Mr Bland
On the other hand
Felt safer on land.
This I can well understand.

A pirate known as 'Lucky' Frank
Caught robbing the captain's piggy bank
Was about to walk the plank
When the ship sank.
