The Troll

Parallel stories which are destined to converge eventually. A troll seeks goats to eat but is advised by other animals he proposes to devour that he is lurking under the wrong bridge. Meanwhile, some pirates are seeking buried treasure but keep landing on the wrong island. This picture book has excellent possibilities for paired reading, with the less experienced reader reading the repetitive troll’s tale while the more experienced could read the still strongly patterned and alliterative pirates’ story.
