Otto: The Autobiography of a Teddy Bear
Otto, a teddy bear belonging to a Jewish boy in Germany at the outbreak of World War 2, is given to his friend Oskar when David and his family are taken away in a truck. Otto tells the story of his life thereafter, of how an encounter with an American G.I, results in him travelling to the USA, and of an ultimate unexpected reunion. A picture book which provides an interesting perspective on history with the reader needing to supply information from other knowledge and sources to have a full understanding of the story and its implications.
