Iris and Isaac
The protagonists are two polar bears who fall out over a squashed snow nest and stride away from each other across the snowy landscape. Each sees amazing sights and regrets the other is not there to share in the pleasure. Eventually the friends are reunited and create a new snow nest to share. Catherine Rayner uses the double page layout to emphasise the separation of the estranged friends, and space and colour to highlight the wonders of the Arctic.
