Child of St Kilda

An atmospheric and unusual picture book describing life on a remote Scottish island focusing on a child who really lived there. This gives human depth and meaning to a book which is also full of information about history, geography and nature pertaining to this place. Although the community has long since left the island it is still visited as a World Heritage site and an appendix contains extracts from Beth Waters’ St Kilda Sketchbook. A helpful note describes the printmaking technique used to create the stunning illustrations.
