They All Saw a Cat

The text of this picture book has a strong patterned text with the repeated refrain ‘The cat walked through the world, with its whiskers, ears, and paws…’ followed by the naming of several living creatures that each see the cat and the affirmation ‘Yes, they all saw the cat.’ However, the multi-media illustrations reveal how differently each of them see the cat from their own viewpoint, both as a physical manifestation and, more subtly, how they relate to the cat.
