A Squash and a Squeeze

An old lady finds that her house is too small and asks a wise old man for advice. One by one, he suggests that she takes in a variety of animals until eventually her house is so full that she has to turn them all out again. Amazingly her house seems ‘enormous now’!
The rhyming text has a lovely rhythm which can be sung. The pictures in this earlier collaboration between the team which created The Gruffalo express the humour in the old lady’s dilemma.
