The Shopping Basket

Stephen, sent shopping, gets to the store past well-known landmarks (the gap in the railings, the house where the nasty dog lives) all right - but having bought 6 eggs, 5 bananas, 4 apples, 3 oranges, 2 doughnuts and 1 packet of crisps he is accosted on his way home, by bear, monkey, kangaroo, goat, pig and elephant who challenge him eyeball to eyeball to give them an egg, a banana etc. Vanity is each animal’s undoing. There’s counting practice in the pictures - but don’t let this spoil the fun of the expedition for readers on the road.
