This Is My Rock
A goat takes possession of a rock and from his lofty position fends off all comers, both the fearsome and the friendly. Even a bird with a cheerful chirp is sent on his way. Joyful at first to be left alone, the goat comes to realise that solitary splendour is not an ideal way to live.
The text is minimal, in the opening pages consisting only of the words ‘This is my rock’ ‘Not your rock’ encased in speech balloons. To understand the story, it is essential to examine the actions of the protagonists, reading the pictures which are framed in distinctive patterns.
