Koshka's Tales: Stories from Russia
The story of a Tsarita wronged by her husband and wicked sisters forms the framework for this collection of Russian tales that James Mayhew has blended together from his favourite versions. A clever storytelling cat, Koshka, weaves its way around the tales, always out-manoeuvring the wily witch Baba Yaga. Mayhew was inspired by the music of Rimsky-Korsakov to interpret these stories in words and jewel-like pictures and panels that illustrate while still leaving room for the imagination.
