I Want My Hat Back

A bear has lost his hat and asks all the other animals if they have seen it. They each have different comments and counter questions, printed in a different colour font from the bear’s utterances, making the layout a little like a play and encouraging for paired reading. It isn’t until a reindeer asks him what the hat looks like that the bear realises that he has seen it after all but what will he do about it? Readers are left to draw their own conclusions. Understanding is in the eyes and those innocent expressions coupled with the tone in which you read the text.
