A boy pays tribute to his father’s dream of flying, a dream he was not able to fulfil in his lifetime as another call claimed him. The story contains strong echoes of the myth of Daedalus and Icarus although here the tragedy takes a different form. The reader needs to understand the symbolic references in the illustrations to gain the full meaning. Grahame Baker-Smith has made stunning use of the artistic possibilities of Photoshop to create these.
