Beverley Greathead

CLPE Trustee - Beverley Greathead

Beverley has recently retired as a headteacher in Wirral after 37 years in education. She began working initially in London later moving to Wirral where she worked in an advisory role for English and Literacy supporting teachers and headteachers.

Beveley wanted to become involved with CLPE after helping to instigate the Power of Reading project for a number of Wirral schools several years ago. Having now retired she would like to help CLPE in continuing their drive to develop in children a love of reading and support teachers in their provision.

She has always loved reading and can recall many books read to her as a child as well as reading independently. She remembers listening to a teacher reading Jane Eyre to her class when she was about 8 years old and wanting to continue reading to find out what happened to her.
