Read our Five Year Impact Report!

The CLPE’s Five Year Impact Report is now available.

The latest report measures our growth and impact on literacy learning and teaching across 2014-2019. It brings together data from our nation-wide training courses, as well as our leading research in the field of picturebooks (The Power of Pictures), diversity and representation (Reflecting Realities), and poetry (Poetryline and CLiPPA).

"In this impact report we wanted to share some of the evidence we have collected and to highlight the way in which our partnerships, our rigorous approaches and our proven commitment to quality have helped us to support the improved literacy learning of so many children." CEO Louise Johns-Shepherd:

  • Since 2014 our work has reached 5 million children and 2,559 schools.
  • We’ve connected with over 381,000 users with our online resources, making sure our research and approaches are as accessible to as many educators as possible, wherever they are located.

The report also showcases the impact our CPD has had on the professional development of over 2,966 teachers, with 100% of teachers saying they would recommend our training to others. Research carried out by Leeds Trinity University on our flagship programme, Power of Reading, is also featured in the report, evidencing that children make an additional 6 months progress in reading and writing in schools that use the programme compared to their peers. Watch the video below to find out more!

“Whenever I visit schools that work with CLPE, I see the most amazing thing: kids who never liked reading before suddenly get it & now can’t stop! Their work is LIFECHANGING & I’m honoured to be one of their patrons!” S.F Said, CLPE Patron and author.
