Michael Rosen

Michael Rosen, former Children's Laureate (2007-2009) and winner of the Eleanor Farjeon Award, is renowned for his work as a poet, performer, broadcaster and scriptwriter and for his commentary on the politics of education. He is Professor of Children's Literature at Goldsmiths, University of London. Michael presents Radio 4’s Word of Mouth. His short novel Uncle Gobb and the Dread Shed was shortlisted for the Little Rebels Award.

Michael is one of the most significant figures in contemporary children's poetry. In drawing closely on his own childhood experiences he continues to introduce new generations of children to the delights of poetry. His collection, A Great Big Cuddle, illustrated by Chris Riddell, was joint winner of the 2016 CLiPPA award. His collection: Jelly Boots, Smelly Boots illustrated by David Tazzyman was shortlisted for the CLiPPA in 2017. He is the winner of the CLiPPA 2021 with his latest collection On the Move .
